The Central Tenders Committee (CTC) has awarded just over $1 million for construction of an extension of the Public Works Department (PWD) building and site works for the Bodden Town Emergency Response Centre.

These CTC contract awards were announced at the Friday, 16 November, meeting of the committee.

Prior to making the awards, invitations to tender were advertised consistent with the Financial Regulations of the Public Management and Finance Law. In deciding on which companies get the contracts, CTC members followed guidelines on government procurement procedure.

Following the public invitations to tender, KM Limited was awarded a $307,056 contract to build a two-storey extension at PWD on North Sound Road. Seven contractors submitted bids for this project.

Three companies submitted bids for Stage 2 work on the Bodden Town Emergency Response Centre. The contract was awarded to Scott's Equipment Ltd for $1,071,984.00 for blasting and other site works.

In June 2007 CTC awarded Kozaily Designs a contract for $980,620 to design the emergency response facility. The architects are to produce a blueprint for construction of the building at a cost totalling $15 million.
